UNPOPERGIOCO RISES TO THE TRE GOLFI
Excellent performance of Unpopergioco who is second in Class 3 at Tre golfi on a fleet of over 80 boats. “Was a beautiful race, very challenging but very satisfying” commented Roberto Cosentino skipper and tactician Fabrizio Iadecola’s ’Italia Yachts 9.98 Unpopergioco. “At about three o’clock in the morning, when there were still 25 miles to the finish, the weather conditions were quite tough, with wind over 21 knots and pouring rain. Paradoxically at the same time the larger boats were in no wind, and all the smaller ones were facing the toughest conditions in the passage between Li Galli and the arrival. This is an area where you have to be able to interpret the unstable wind very well. From here to the finish it was a continuous chase between the boats, passing from the top positions to the last in a short time. It was a really good race, faster than expected, but also challenging because almost all race in the wide upwind. I must say that having a strong technical boat helps to solve all the problems and mistakes that are made in navigation” concludes Cosentino. As early as next week Unpopergioco will be involved in the National Tyrrhenian Championship– Rolex Capri Sailing Week, also in Capri, for the qualification to the Italian Offshore Absolute Championship.
